Never a Dull Moment in Puerto Vallarta!

November 19, 2017
Who would think that a small village in Mexico could offer so much excitment!  When we first bought a home down here almost four years ago, I was worried that we might get bored in such a small town.  I can honestly say, it is far from any chance of boredom and there is way more to do here than one could possibly fit into a two week vacation.  There is so much to do, that I have yet to experience it all so I am periodically going to update this page with more fun filled options as I encounter them.

If your looking for fun that involves water, there are a dozen water adventures to choose from including swimming with dolphins, jet skiing, parasailing over the ocean, snorkling and scuba diving. The best scuba tour in Vallarta, regardless of your experience is PV Sea Dive run by Sue Keevil who happens to be FAMILY!

In addition to this, there are several boat tours of the bay to choose from.  These include whale watching, sailing, and the infamous booze cruises.  The most famous of course being Diana's Tours, which is an all inclusive full day of fun in a catamaran that includes alcohol, appetizers, lunch at a beach, and snorkling.  I highly recommend this tour, especially if your are a Vallarta virgen.

If your looking to see more skin on your boat adventure there are a number of others to choose from depending on the season and it can be hit or miss depending on the crowd.  The Wet & Wild Gay Cruise is probably the most established for the naughtier excursions.

We love the water so much that we bought our own boat and go out regularly with our friends exploring the various fishing villages in the bay as well as the beautiful Marrieta Islands.  Here is a link to the facebook video

Now if your not into water sports and your looking to stay dry, there are a number of land locked adventures such as Horseback riding in the mountains, four wheeling, and if your not afraid of heights, there are several zipline tours to choose from. If you want to have a gay ole time, then I suggest the Go Gay Jungle Adventure.

Now as if that wasn't enough, there are a number of fun places to visit in the surrounding area of Vallarta such as the Botanical Gardens and it's neighbor El Tuito, a Mexican Cowtown that is known for it's rodeos and it's dancing horses.  Make sure you have a Raicilla Margarita when your their, it will knock you on your ass!  Some of my favorite places to visit are the Bohemiam Surfer town of Sayulita and the Colonial Mining town of San Sebastian del Oeste nestled in the mountains of Jalisco offering breath taking views.

But the fun doesn't stop here, if you just want to sit back, relax and be entertained, there are a number of theaters in town offering great entertainment!  First there is The Palm on Olas Altas just a hop and skip away from some of the best restaurants in Vallarta!  The perfect place to stop in before or after dinner.  The newest Theater to open is Act II Entertainment, hosting a main stage for larger performances and the Red Room for more intimate shows.  Soon to open will be their Piano Bar called Encore where you can just hang out and have some cocktails.  Tickets for all venues can be purchased online at  Vallarta Tickets.  Here's some examples of what to expect from Act II Entertainment.
