It has long been on my bucket list to see the changing of the leafs that the American North East is so famous for in the fall season. So this year we decided to take the longest RV adventure we have taken so far, an approximate 60 days all the way up into southern Canada and back to Texas before we head south into Mexico for the winter. You can follow our adventure here on StayWithFamily.com. I will be uploading videos of our travels as I finish them.
You can use the interactive map below to see our itenerary in more detail or go to Roadtrippers
Part 1- Houston to Roy's Hideaway Gay Campground
We start off our road trip leaving Houston Texas headed for the eastern coast with a stop in Mandeville Louisiana, Montgomery Alabama, and Roy's Hideaway gay campground outside Savannah South Georgia. We just happen to be there during their Mr. Hideaway Leather contest.
Part 2 - Savannah Georgia to Virginia Beach.
Here we check out Savannah for Gay Pride weekend then off to Charlotte South Carolina and Virginia Beach.
Part 3 - Rehoboth Beach Delaware to Amish Country
On this leg of the trip we check out a popular gay destination on the North East Coast called Rehoboth Beach where we visit Blue Moon restaurant and bar where Cashetta Scott is performing, a Drag Magician, Singer, and Psychic. Then we head to the Amish Country where we find the perfect RV Park called Beacon Hill RV Resort in the town of Intercourse, located between Blue Ball and Paradise.
Part 4 - Asbury Park, New Jersey to Provincetown Delaware
After leaving Amish country we head for the coast starting at Asbury Park along the Jersey Shore before hitting New York City. This vacation destination has become a hot weekend getaway for gays in the New York area. In New York City we find a great RV Park close to the city called Liberty Harbor RV Park, just across the the river with a skyline view of New York. Heading out of New York we make a stop in Newport on our way to Provincetown, the gayest beach north of Fire Island.
Part 5 - Boston to Southwest Harbor Maine
On this leg of the trip we visit the cities of Boston and Salem Massachusetts, home of the infamous Witch trials of 1692. Then we visit the gay beach town of Oqunquit where we meet up with the Dueling Drag Divas, Chi Chi Rones and Jo Anna. Last we make a pit stop in Southwest Harbor Maine before we cross the French Canadian border into Montreal.
Part 6 - Montreal to Horseheads New York
On this leg of our adventure we cross the Canadian Border into Montreal then onto a Gay Campground called Camping Plein Bois on our way to Toronto. Finally we cross back into the U.S. at Niagara Falls on our way to Horseheads New York.
Part 7 - Gay Campgrounds
This is the last leg of our road trip where we visit several Gay Campgrounds in the North East, many of which are clothing optional such as The Woods Campground in Lehighton Pennsylvania, Timberfell Lodge in Greenville Tennessee, In The Woods Campground in Canon Georgia, and our favorite campground called The River's Edge in Dewey Rose Georgia. We strategically hit these campgrounds around the Holloween weekend to take advantage of all the fun activities these parks have to offer.
Make sure and look for our Texas to Washington RV road trip in the summer of 2015 where we will be hitting up some more gay campgrounds including some major Gay Campging events in that part of the country such as Pride Float in Missouri and Rendezvous Wyoming .
